Tony Award-winning actress Laura Benanti will perform her one-woman stand-up show, "Laura Benanti: Nobody Cares," at Boston's Calderwood Pavilion for four performances from Oct. 22 to Oct. 25, 2026, according to the Boston Globe.
The show, described as a comedy with original songs, previously sold out at the Edinburgh Fringe and during runs in London and off-Broadway. Benanti wrote the songs with her longtime musical collaborator Todd Almond.
Benanti, a New York City native known for Broadway as well as screen roles including the series "Mayor of Kingstown" on Paramount+ and Netflix, said the material is autobiographical and aimed at audiences at least 15 years old because it includes adult language and content. She said she is "a recovering ing\u00e9nue" and uses the show to question expectations placed on young women.
She told the Globe her move into stand-up developed out of hosting events, where she wrote opening monologues and sketches, and that she continues to perform Broadway concerts around the country. Benanti lives in New Jersey with her husband, education technology consultant Patrick Brown, and their two daughters.
