The New England Revolution secured a place in the 2027 CONCACAF Champions Cup on October 31, when a 1-1 draw between FC Dallas and Sporting Kansas City locked the club into a top-four finish in the Supporters' Shield standings, according to the Boston Globe.
The Revolution, at 18-10-4 with 58 points, qualify under the provision that sends the two next-best teams in the Shield standings to the continental tournament, behind the MLS Cup champion and each conference winner. Nashville claimed a berth by winning the Eastern Conference and the Supporters' Shield, and St. Louis City qualified by winning the US Open Cup on October 22.
It will be the club's first Champions Cup appearance since 2024, when it reached the quarterfinals.
The schedule crowds an already full year. Major League Soccer is shifting from a spring-to-fall calendar to a fall-to-spring format beginning with the 2027-28 season, and the league will fill the gap with a sprint season running from February to May 2027. The Champions Cup starts in early 2027 and will overlap with it.
New England was set to host Lionel Messi and Inter Miami at 7 p.m. on November 1, with a win clinching the second seed in the Eastern Conference.
