Snyk, the Boston-based software security company, introduced Evo Agentic AppSec on October 15, 2026, a set of artificial intelligence agents that detect, repair and block vulnerabilities in software code, according to a company announcement distributed by Business Wire.

The company said the agents operate its existing scanning engines rather than replace them, and that each fix is checked by a system separate from the one that generated it. Snyk said it serves more than 4,800 customers.

Snyk tied the launch to the spread of AI-written code. It said new critical and high-severity issues detected across its customer base rose tenfold over the past year, and that its product data showed roughly eight new vulnerabilities introduced for every one fixed. The company also said its researchers responded to 18 high-profile malware attacks in 2026 and project an annual increase of more than 500% in malicious packages published to open-source registries.

In benchmark testing cited by Snyk, large language models alone produced a mergeable fix 59.6% of the time, while its Evo Remediation Agent reached 90%.

"The generator cannot be the validator," said Manoj Nair, Snyk chief technology officer and chief innovation officer.

Three of the agents are in experimental preview for selected customers, and the remediation agent is in open preview.
