IonQ has formed a partnership with QuantumCT to expand access to quantum computing for education, research and businesses in Connecticut, according to a report published by Yahoo Finance on November 5, 2026.

The quantum computing company also agreed to acquire Elisity, a zero trust security specialist, and plans to fold its identity-based access control technology into IonQ's quantum security platform for enterprise customers. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed in the report.

IonQ, which trades on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker IONQ, builds quantum computing systems for customers in the United States, Switzerland and other markets. The company describes its business as an integrated platform spanning computing, networking, sensing and security rather than hardware alone.

The report, which was produced with AI automation using data and analysis from Simply Wall St, said the Elisity deal aligns with IonQ's push into quantum-secure communications and city-scale networks, and that the Connecticut partnership fits a strategy of pursuing longer-term government and education work. It also cited risks tied to heavy spending and integrating acquisitions, and said it remains unclear how quickly the deals will reduce cash burn, in a market where competitors including IBM and Quantinuum already sell to large corporate IT buyers.
