The Bellingham High School girls volleyball team swept Norwood 3-0 on the road on October 15, winning 25-20, 25-20 and 25-12 to improve to 12-0, the Boston Herald reported.
Norwood, which came into the match at 9-3 and atop the TVL Large division, opened each of the first two sets with early leads, going up 4-1 and 2-1. Bellingham, the reigning Division 3 state champion, pulled away behind senior outside hitter Mia Milani. In one of those sets, the Blackhawks built a 21-10 advantage with Milani serving before Norwood answered with an 8-0 run to close within 22-20; Milani then delivered two of the final three kills to end the set.
Milani took over again in the third set, recording seven of the final eight kills.
Bellingham has lost only one set this season, against Case, its opponent in the 2025 championship match.
"I thought we started a little slow, a little sluggish for us," Bellingham head coach Steve Montegani said, crediting Norwood's defense. Montegani said his roster is made up entirely of juniors and seniors, including seven seniors.
Norwood head coach Paul Nimblett earned his 100th career victory in the week before the match.
