Hasbro Says Move to Boston Will Affect Nearly 600 Pawtucket Positions

WPRI reported that a notice filed with Rhode Island's labor department was initially listed as a layoff before being corrected.

Hasbro said hundreds of employees will be affected by the company's planned move out of Pawtucket to Boston, WPRI reported on October 13, 2026.

The toy maker's relocation affects nearly 600 positions, according to the WPRI report by Barbara Ron.

A WARN notice tied to the change was initially listed as a layoff on a Rhode Island Department of Labor and Training report, WPRI said. The station later corrected its story after receiving updated information, noting the original characterization was inaccurate.

WPRI did not report a timeline for the move or say how many of the affected employees would be offered positions in Boston.
