Future, a health coaching service that pairs customers with a personal coach, said on October 13, 2026 that it had struck a partnership with BodySpec, which sells DEXA body composition scans, in 15 U.S. metropolitan markets that include Boston.
Under the arrangement, announced through PR Newswire, members on Future's Core plan get one scan a year and Premium subscribers get one every three months, with extra scans sold through the company's app. The scans use dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry to measure body fat, visceral fat, lean muscle and bone density, results that Future said its coaches will fold into training plans alongside bloodwork, sleep data and mobility tests.
Future cited results from a test group of 185 members who had been in the program at least 30 days: those who got a scan logged an average of 5.8 workouts a week, against 3.7 for those who did not, and traded 6.7 messages a week with their coach, against 4.7.
"A DEXA scan is much more valuable when it's part of an ongoing coaching relationship," said Ali Jafari, chief executive of Future. The company, co-chaired by Tom Brady, said it has served more than 100,000 members since 2019.
BodySpec, led by co-founder and chief executive Elaine Shi, runs storefront sites and mobile vans in more than 15 markets and said it has more locations planned by early 2027.
