The candidates for governor of Massachusetts campaigned in separate corners of the state on Oct. 29, five days before the Nov. 3 election, WCVB reported.

Republican Mike Minogue appeared before supporters in Dracut, where he said voters are frustrated with what he called a one-party system and laid out a platform centered on keeping families in the state. He described plans on public safety and immigration, saying he is "anti-violent criminal" and opposed to drug dealers, though he did not refer directly to federal immigration enforcement, according to WCVB.

Gov. Maura Healey spent the day in Holyoke, speaking at the reopening of the rebuilt Holyoke Soldiers' Home. The facility was the site of an outbreak early in the COVID-19 pandemic in which 76 veterans died. Healey, who was attorney general at the time, said rebuilding the home had been a priority since she took office as governor.

Healey also held a rally in Holyoke and has been urging supporters to vote. At an Oct. 25 get-out-the-vote event in Cambridge, she said there is "a clear choice in this race," WCVB reported.

Polls close on the evening of Nov. 3.
