Southern Maine Heat Pumps, based in Gorham, Maine, said it repairs and services heat pumps from any major manufacturer, including Mitsubishi, Daikin, Fujitsu, LG and Bosch, regardless of who installed the unit, according to its website. The company said it does not work on central air conditioning or oil furnaces, describing itself as "a heat-pump shop."
A Heat-Pump-Only Shop
The company is a registered vendor with Efficiency Maine, the state's energy-efficiency program, and said it handles rebate paperwork for customers who qualify, according to its website. It said it has more than 30 years of combined experience among its team, installs Mitsubishi, Daikin and Samsung equipment for new jobs, and offers annual maintenance, cleaning and repair on heat pumps regardless of brand.
Multi-Zone Systems And Water Heater Savings
Among its listed installation services are ductless mini-splits for homes without existing ductwork, multi-zone systems that connect one outdoor unit to several indoor units, and heat pump water heaters, according to its website. The company said multi-zone systems can deliver energy savings of up to 40% compared with traditional HVAC equipment, and that heat pump water heaters run two to three times more efficiently than standard electric water heaters.
The company also installs energy recovery ventilators, which it said bring fresh air into a home while recovering energy that would otherwise be lost through the stale air a home exhausts, and it offers commercial heat pump installation for offices, retail spaces, warehouses and multi-unit buildings. Southern Maine Heat Pumps said recent jobs posted to its social media included an install near Little Sebago Lake in Gray and a shop installation of wall units across several work bays in Sanford.
48 Towns From Augusta To York County
Southern Maine Heat Pumps said it serves 48 towns spanning York, Cumberland, Androscoggin, Sagadahoc and Kennebec counties, from the Augusta area to York County, with Portland, Westbrook, South Portland and Cape Elizabeth among the towns it lists for its Portland-area customers, according to its website.
