Elevator Evolution, an elevator installation and service company based in Auburn, provides new construction, modernization and maintenance work for buildings across Maine, according to its website. The company lists Lewiston, Brunswick, Augusta, Portland and Topsham among the areas it serves beyond Auburn. The site says understanding Maine's building codes and what customers expect allows the company to respond quickly and support clients over the long run, and that its staff carries decades of hands-on experience designing, maintaining and modernizing what it calls vertical transportation systems.

Installing Systems for New Buildings

For new construction, the company says it works alongside architects, contractors and developers so an elevator's design fits a building's layout and expected use from the start, according to its website. Every system it installs is described as meeting Americans with Disabilities Act standards and applicable local safety codes. The site says its installations use energy-efficient technology intended to run smoothly and quietly, and that the company manages each project from initial design through final testing.

Modernizing Older Elevators

Elevator Evolution also offers modernization work for elevators showing age through slower response times, inconsistent operation or outdated controls, according to its website. A modernization project can replace aging components to improve travel speed and reduce noise, update safety systems to meet current codes, and refresh a cab's interior and control panels. Among the specific upgrades the site lists are LED cab lighting and regenerative drives, which it says cut a building's energy use.

Locally Owned, Not a Chain

The company describes itself on its website as locally owned and operated rather than part of a national chain, fully licensed and insured for commercial, residential and industrial work. Rather than presenting itself as one option among many, the site says the company treats every client "like family" and lists an elevator's performance, safety and reliability among its top priorities on every job.
